Don't. Do it right, or you'll have a bad surprize sooner or later.
There are synths that use the note-off velocity. The "studio
standard" Roland JV-1080 and relatives do, for example. (Which makes
the fact that Cakewalk can't control note-off velocity very annoying.
I have to reprogram the synth to get around that. And CW's MIDI
through does *not* add this flaw, so the synth responds differently
to MIDI thru and sequencer playback! :-( )
