On my dual Celeron box, while running the UP version of 2.2.10-lowlatency-N6,
I experienced big latency problems:
the cause was APM, which seems to freeze IRQs on my mainboard Gigabyte SMP BX
(on an UP Asus P2B APM doesn't ruin latencies)
After disabling APM the results on my celeron were ok)
I did not try with the 2.2.10-lowlatency-N6 in SMP mode, because Ingo said
that his 2.2.10 patch doesn't perform optimally on SMP since the kernel-lock
parts needs to be changes to exploit full performance.
Hmm I'm not aware of the 2.2.13-lowlat-A1 ?
Where can I get it , what is the difference between 2.2.10-N6 and this patch ?
(except that it works with kernel 2.2.13 ?)
regards,
Benno.
