I would like to something like this:
  
play a sound

while (go on for a long (reasonably ;) time) {

   //event is mousebutton,keypress whatever
   if (event within 1 to 5 secs) {
      start to play sound-x2 after xxx sec
   }
   else if (another event) {
      start to play sound-x3 after xxx sec
   }
   else {
      start to play sound-x4 after xxx sec
   }
}

// playing sounds may include starttime and endtimes

Are there a Linux program to do this or
shall I try to do something myself.
I have a mixbas source to be found at
