Did you mean network cards, perchance?
I don't think using sound cards for data communication is a useful
idea, but it certainly is intriguing as an academic experiment.
You could probably use some of the low-level modem protocols, since
they are inherently audio-based. Who here thinks they could get a
pair of Sound Blasters to speak V.90 to each other over a decent
quality cable?
