I encourage you to advocate this on the vst-plugins list. Also can you please
explain what would be the legal consequences of "open sourcedness" of a plugin
interface for host and plugin manufacturers (I for one am a complete ignoramus
on these questions) ? Technically I understand it would facilitate developer
input, although Steinberg have a good record of implementing developer
suggestions, especially if the developer in question offers concrete code.
What I would like to see personally is the emergence of a single, good,
multiplatform, evolutive plugin interface standard on which everybody would
agree, whether public or proprietary, provided everybody can use it for free.
