This is the sort of thing I am quite well geared up to do, not least as
I have spent a lot of time writing code to read and write AIFF files! If
you can send me one or two reasonably short example files (<= 500K
zipped? - I have a 56K modem!) with your description of what they are
supposed to contain, (zipped preferably, as I work mainly on a PC, but I
can do Mac stuffit decoding and linux gzip decoding too if necessary), I
will 'have a go'.
