hi,
i'm working on a client/server sound project, where one server sends
control information out to a bunch of clients. i'm wondering what my
various options are in terms of having numerous sound generating clients
running on one linux box. i.e. how to negotiate the one-at-a-time
/dev/dsp thing.
as i understand it there are a number of ways to go about this,
including a few different sound server architectures. if it's not too
much trouble, could someone who is familiar with the different possible
approaches post a synopsis and/or some links to get me started?
thanks,
douglas
