It's basically Michael McNabb's Nrev from ca. 1979 (Mus10 if I
remember right), based on John Chowning's reverb, itself based on work
of Moorer and Schroeder -- the all-pass/comb-filter idea. The C code
is in snd-dac.c (based on clm.c), lisp code in nrev.ins etc. It was
the favorite reverberator here at CCRMA during the Samson box years
when convolution was out of the question, though Moorer highly
recommended it. Ken Shoemake also developed some nice reverbs in
those years -- I think I still have some of them.
