Subject: [linux-audio-dev] Announcing ttrk (tektracker)

Here is the first release of my sequencer. Looking for opinions.

        http://div8.net/ttrk/

Included in the app (and on the web) is detailed documentation on
using ttrk and all the keys. It's a console app, a port/rewrite of a
GUI (Qt) app (hehe). ttrk is stable and reliable, so I would love to
hear of any bugs, no matter how small. It is released under the GPL.

There are five main goals of ttrk:

  1. Tracker-style step editor, think ScreamTracker3.
  2. Pattern based sequencer.
  3. Big, accessable track mute buttons, think Alesis MMT8.
  4. Live editing, never need to push stop.
  5. All functions directly accessable from the keyboard for rapid
     editing.

  Features:

  - 256 channels, each with 256 patterns.
  - Songs up to 4096 patterns long.
  - Pattern copy and paste.
  - Sync to external MIDI, and send MIDI sync.

Stuff I still need to fix:

  1. Supports only one MIDI device at a time (qt-ttrk supported multiple
     devices).
  2. Supports only /dev/midi devices (qt-ttrk also supported
     /dev/sequencer).
