Definitely you are right but i don't foresee a big change
in the next year or so.. I know a few profesionnal musicians,
I'm keeping them sometimes updated about what kind of software
is developed and available on linux, but there is still a LOT
to do before providing a good platform for music making. I'm
advising them against having false ideas about linux these days
because I know the current situation would give a false image
of it. People who are actually busy doing music don't want
to bother with having to update regularly a cvs snapshot of all
the latest software, compile them, see that they sometimes don't
work and so on..
For the current linux audio 'community' developers and users are
necessarly mixed due to the constant changes ... so i am against
arbitrarly spliting lists between users and developers.
Just my personal point of view on the matter
