1/ The Libre Software Meeting 2001

From July, 4th to July, 9th 2001 will take place near Bordeaux the second
Libre Software Meeting, at the ENSEIRB, on the campus of the Université
Bordeaux I, France. This meeting is organized by the ABUL("Association
Bordelaise des Utilisateurs de Logiciels Libres", that is,the "Libre
Software User's Group of Bordeaux"), which already organized the first LSM
from July, 5th to July 9th, 2000.

The goal of the Libre Software Meeting is to set up a single place whereas
many people as possible will be able to share information and gather their
energies towards large scale projects. It is open to every people willing
to contribute to "libre" software : project leaders, developers,
translators, advanced users, etc. This event is absolutely non commercial:
participation is free in every meaning of the word.

In the mean time will also take place events dedicated to a larger
audience, including demonstrations and workshops on the interest of libre
software for education, for instance.

2/ The computer music topic

The LSM meeting is organised in topics. We would like the computer music
topic to be an opportunity for the developers of audio and musical software
to meet, exchange useful information, set-up collaborations and define
future directions of work in this field.

If you are developping free audio and music softwares, libraries, API,
languages, architectures, plugings, etc. and wish to share your experience
and knowledge with other developers, please consider submitting a project.

The project can be either a presentation/demo (45mn) or
workshop/coding-party (2h). We will provide some support, in particular
free accommodation on the campus, for the selected projects.

Please send your submission (a 1 page email presenting your demo or
workshop project) to Myriam DESAINTE-CATHERINE (myriam_AT_labri.u-bordeaux.fr)
and Yann Orlarey (orlarey_AT_grame.fr)
