i suppose i should stress that the current version is still at
proof-of-concept stage. although its getting more robust, there are
lots of ways to kill it. fixing these should hopefully be easier than
the overall design.
however, you should be able to do:
./ae &
./aeclient foo
to monitor whatever is coming in on the inputs of ALSA PCM "hw:0,0" to
the outputs of that device.
