From what we've deduced, efficiency is related essentially to memory
footprint and then a single API may be a bonus.

About other aspects of efficiency I really don't see why to have several
API should be more efficent (a soundbox redefine internally the actions
needed for an API entry point).

About "easier to work" I think that developers would like to have a
single API to learn/understand. I'd think in the same way...

Other bonus of a single API are:
- component reuse
- greater flexybility
- true modularity
- etc. (we've analyzed deeply that in previous postings)

But there is something I don't understand from your objection, IIRC
there was general agreement that a single API is better, the residual
point was "Is it feasible?". I've interpreted wrong?
