This library claims to be faster than fftw _and_ the intel library as well

perhaps someone with a faster link could be bothered to download
the intel signal processing lib (now called "integrated performance
primitives"). its 45.6MB, and my 28.8 modem just ain't up to that.
the vst-plugins list reports that the FFT transform it contains is
faster than FFTW, for example. you do have to register to download it,
but it appears moderately innocuous and fakeable if it bothers you.
