The maudio audiophile (or something like that) is under £150 in the UK,
its 4 in, 4 out 24/96 with midi and its fine.

If you don't have 150 quid of funding, apply for a government grant,
approach a local university or something.

Even if you think your time is free, cpu power isn't. Youre going to burn
a lot of cycles syncing up two audio streams, even at 44.1kHz.
