i thought this list is for people who try to add professional audio
appliances into linux.

i agree:
a company signs with microsoft not to release the specs for their hardware
into open source waters;
=> open source community can't support the professional audio/midi
equipment;
=> nobody uses linux for audio production;
=> the target market stays under windows [not expanded to its highest
possible value].

but note: this "crisis" only adds more man power into open source world.
therefore increasing the probability of more emphasis on OS world, thus
increasing the chance of more emphasis on audio ...

isn't this possible ?
