i think you have to define what "checks differences between
audiofiles" a little more clearly. everything you write afterwards
makes sense, but there is no context for it.

are you trying to find if the files are of the same sound, but at
different volumes? or shifted in time wrt. the start of the file? or
one is a filtered version of the other? or one is a subset of the
other? or one is the same data but with a different header format?

i would guess that the methods for doing each of these would be quite
different. its not clear from your message which of these (or other
ideas) you're thinking of.
