hello lad & lau readers !
after having a bit of a spam problem lately (not that the spam was
that much, but the list host got blacklisted by spamcop and bounces
went through the roof), i have added some rustic message filtering
to the lists.
as of yesterday, the following posts will be rejected:
* size over 40k
* html or "mixed" messages
* messages with most binary attachments
* messages containing some spam keywords
* messages to "Undisclosed Recipients"
these rules will be extended if further spam gets through.
i'm not exactly a perl god, but i hope i got it right.
still, those of you who filter incoming mail against spamcop are
likely to reject list mail for about one week each time a spam
message goes through and is reported to spamcop.
there is nothing i can do about it at the moment. i hope that we
will eventually switch to a mailing list software that allows for
better filtering and slightly saner headers.
best,
jörn
