Ah ok, that's fine then. I was just remembering synths in the old OSS days
and starting to worry.

Excellent stuff. Is this number configurable or hardware dependent or decided
on by ALSA? Might I suggest you cut and paste your reply in the HOWTO somewhere
or other?
