Yes, but you can't reduce an amplifier down to a simple transfer function,
there are time effects too (delay, freq response, reverb).

The best attempts I've heard at amp modelling have been based on impulses,
plus saturation moddeling. I Am Not A Guitarist ;) YMMV.
