I think once the userbase is large enough, the polishing of the software
will also come. The GIMP started as something not so really useful, but now
it's already quite a decent alternative for Photoshop.

I think a donation system would be great. Fortuneately the EU is already
making donations, in the form of the AGNULA project (www.agnula.org). And
Red Hat is involved, so there already is a big distributor making systems.

Certainly. And a man can hope... that AGNULA will be a success. Since then
the userbase will be expanded big time.
