Do give Swami a try too :) CVS will give you a functioning modulator
editor (control effects in real time with MIDI controllers), the GUI
sliders will also control effects in real time (also in released
0.9.0pre1). For those interested in this program, much is going on
behind the scenes and I would love to have more developers on
board (just me right now). Cheers.
