I've been putting all my free time into the GMPI project, in hopes that
something good will come of it. If GMPI peters out, I'll take all that we
have learned and push forward on Linux, anyway.

Maybe you call that working for my own goals (I have a dream application in
my head) or working for the common good.

When I get to a point where I can actually start my dream app, I KNOW I will
need help. I am *not* a DSP-guy nor am I a GUI guy. I have lots of ideas
on architecture and design, but I will need some DSP help and some HCI help
(more than just GUI - HCI) and probably some optimization help (my asm is
weak at best :).

Gosh, based on that I sound pretty useless, but I *think* I am a good
architecture guy, at least. :)

What's my point? When it comes time for me to start my dream host, I will
        a) see what exists already
        b) beg for help from experts
        c) be willing to compromise some of my goals in order to do a) or b)

Maybe more people need to be willing to do that?

Tim
