Hmmm... I have checked out alsa via anonymous CVS from
sourceforge. Can't get it to compile - it misses a
./configure script when running "./build config". What
 did I do wrong ? How-tos do not seem very helpful as
they are apparently out-of-date (they just mention
doing the standard ./configure, make, etc.
routine...).

Tried instead do a "./build prep" as that might be a
logical first thing to do, but now it complains that
aclocal cannot be found. Is that autoconf ? I do have
autoconf, latest version according to apt-get (running
Debian Sarge).
