and you have cheap audio hardware with plenty of capabilities to
support the open source ideal.

there is no need to invest $2million in hardware that is affordable
and powerful for audio-related use. there are plenty of far, far
cheaper solutions to this problem that can still result in amazing,
consumer-friendly, sound production ..

me, personally, i can't stand the idea of someone making a PCI card
for a PC to do audio. for crying out load, its absolutely no fun
watching people make music on such a boat anchor! where are the
cell-phone synths?!
