If you take a look at how vastly different our approaches to plugin
implementation are (consequently, your plan will amount to a complete
rewrite in many cases), and if you recall how large our differences
over further LADSPA evolution have been, I'm certain you will agree
that this proposal, regardless of merit, is facing grim prospects.

(Unless you set out to do it yourself of course.)
