As well as the BKL pushdown (Big Kernel Lock)
Some latency benchmarking - when they eventually are done merging -
would be in place, so we would know what or if there is a real problem?
IMO, 10 - 30us latency is fantastic, but perhaps a little over the top
for audio work.
