I'm guessing this is a host-specific use of MIDI channel that you are
wondering about, since the DSSI spec itself is careful to avoid
suggesting any sort of interpretation of MIDI channel numbers (in
particular, to avoid limiting any DSSI system to 16 channels.) Can you
explain better where you are seeing this?
