hello, LAU readers !

the time has finally come to populate this list. i see there are
already some fearless subscribers around.
i have hacked together a very simple announcement page that will go
online rsn at the usual place (see below).
dave p. has written a rough description of the possible goals and
topics of this list. as soon as it has taken a little more shape, we
will post it here for you guys to review.
