Hi,
Thank you for the response, I did not know terminatorX, looks great.

I searched a lot on sourceforge to find anything approaching what I
want, but everything I found were resource-monsters or hacky programs.
Maybe jukeDaddy, but I was unable to download it.

My project: an integrated web-interface to mpg123 and other players.
The first goal is to use it in my office, with 2 users. The second goal
is to use it in a case at home, with a remote-control and a LCD.
Another big point is the interface and the sorting possibilities, what
I saw is not really convenient. I want to be able to use more than one
genre for the same song.

Absolutely right. Anyway, I don't want to "touch" the sound layer
myself. My project is "only" about starting the right player, stopping
it, giving status, designing a convenient interface and so on.
However, since yesterday the first version is working, it can read ID3
Tags (using mp3info), present the songs in a HTML selection list and
start a song (simply call mpg123), stop it (arggg, for now it kills
mpg123, what is not really smart, but it works). The HTTP support is
minimal, will have a "text/plain" style to interface simpler with
non-html clients (like my future LCD client).
regards
ben
