Wed I downloaded the PlanetCCRMA packages and tried some
of them out on my test machine here. I'm using a late Sept
cvs of alsa, and already had snd-5.1 rpms installed that I had
generated from the source packages.
Because I was very impressed with the quality of your snd-5.1
source packages I decided to try installing a couple of the
compiled rpms that you included. Well, I'm very impressed
with what you have put together. I didn't have much time,
but ecawave and muse worked "right out of the box" along with
the previous snd. All with alsa and a delta 1010 on a stock
redhat 7.1 with a 2.4.3-12 kernel.
I don't know if there are any problems with the other parts of
the packages, hopefully I'll get some time to check it all out
(including your kernel and alsa). I feel that you are on the
correct track to showing that it's posible to get some decent
sound apps going on linux that the average linux user could
easily install.
