What kind of software is available on Linux for
recording electric guitar? This is at a hobby level.
All I need is a way to record 4 or more tracks.
I want to record while listening to myself. That is, put
down a bass or rythem track and then play it back
while simutaneouly ( full-duplex) recording another
track for the lead.
I've been told this is only possible with commercial
software, like Cakewalk, and will cost me big money.
Right now I know nothing of recording with a
computer. All my experience has been with analog
devices like the Fostex cassett sound system,
and, years ago, a two track reel-to-reel.
I've got a 500MHz AMD, 40Gig HD, 384 Meg SDram,
Red Hat 7.1 Sound Blaster Live ( the cheap version ).
Any information would be appreciated.
