Hi,
Audacity has basic markers, but they aren't very advanced. To use
markers, first create a label track with Project->New Label Track. Then
select the spot in the label track where you want to drop a marker and
hit space. You can change the name of the marker by clicking on it.
Like I said, they aren't very advanced at the moment. Especially since
markers are an important feature for you, we would really appreciate your
input on how you would like them to behave. I encourage you to mail
audacity-devel_AT_lists.sourceforge.net.
Looping is planned but not yet begun.
Joshua
