Can anyone answer this for me?

If I record at dat quality from for example a portable cdplayer should
the recording playback at normal pitch/speed or higher/faster due to the
increase in sample rate 44100 -> 48000?

I just tried this and it seems to have changed the speed and pitch of
the recording. Seems unusual to me but I can understand why it could be
possible.
