Yes, ALSA does support soft-mixing, but you have to use the ALSA
plugin devices made for that and you need at least alsa-0.9.1, I
guess. Try using "plug:dmix" instead of the default alsa device.

There's no excuse for running Arts or Esd anymore. ;)
