Aha. This is what I was aiming for. I've a fairly quiet drive. Can
you remember how you went about accessing the signal from the IDE cable?

I have inspected and found the appropriate CD analogue audio connector
on the motherboard. I'll go and fetch myself a cable for this.
I'm going to start a new thread on SPDIF as I'm about to digress from
the subject above.
