It seems that rosegarden 0.8.5 won't display flattened notes only if no
initial key is declared. When I write something like F major at the beginning
of the staff, I get my flat signs, which is a viable workaround for my
situation.

I often prefer prefer writing without an initial key declaration, as if the
tune was in C Major. I see no reason to write down a tune that doesn't use
functional harmony in any specific key, just to have some signs available.

I will take a look at the new version.
