Agreed - ALSA works great with Slack, I use it every day ;-) I think ALSA
will be in kernel 2.6 (confirm, anyone?) so it will be shipping with the
kernel soon although we'll have to get the mixers et. al. elsewhere.

Hope it works out for you, Slack is definately the way to go!
