the order of interrupt priority on a non-APIC machine:
0, 1, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
0 is the highest priority
7 is the lowest priority
Therefor it would be best to put the spu on irq 8 or 9, giving it a
higher priority, atleast give it a higher priority than the other
cards on your station.
It is also wise to tune the pci latency timer so that no card can hold
the bus for a "long" period. Give the spu as much time as it needs and
the other cards very little time.

The trick is to get a high priority irq

The important thing is to let jack have posix 1.e capabilities
