They were actually recordings of passing vehicles - yes, okay, I should
get out more - so the channel reversal was pretty obvious.

But I wanted to be sure the hardware was hooked up correctly before
looking at the next thing - I think there is a *software* reversal, if I
use OSS emulation, going straight into ALSA seems OK, but I need to get
my facts straight before I discuss this further.

I seem to remember this sort of thing being debated when TV first
started carrying stereo sound..
