I think that has been done... looking at kernl 2.6.5-rc1 i find:

        - new MIDI quirks for Roland MMP-2, V-SYNTH, VariOS, FP-*, GI-20,
          BOSS GS-10, Edirol UR-80, PCR-A, PCR-1

So maybe its already done.
