Steve, while at it: Would you consider adding WAVE_FORMAT_PCM
(0x00010002 as reported by sndfile-info) to timemachine's recording
formats?

Also sometimes it makes sense for me to have no pre-recording buffer at
all, so if "-t 0" were possible that would be great.
