That sounds exactly what I would like to do! I'm having some issues
installing Specimen though...

"Package samplerate was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing 'samplerate.pc' to the
PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable

I apologize if this is not the right place to be asking about this...
I suppose now you can tell how much of a Linux newbie I actually am...
