Hi,
a problem may also be with the udev device system, which can cause
/dev/snd/seq not to be created as expected, or not giving the right
permissions to the node. This solves it temporarily:
mknod -m 660 /dev/snd/seq c 116 1
chgrp audio /dev/snd/seq
If anyone has a better, more definite solution, I'd be happy to know...
sincerely,
Marije
