Well, I'm very happy now. It's wonderful to open qjackctl and see all

Thanks for the advice. I'll try to have a listen to a pair somewhere.
That was a small error earlier - I meant Alesis M One Mk2 Actives.
The reason I'd like a pair of Mk2s is that two of my friends at
University each had them, and I really liked the way that they sound. I
have to be honest - the fact that they are made of materials like carbon
fibre and pure silk (with blue LEDs) appeals to me too!
The Behringers look comparable though (and a little cheaper too...)
