Hi Laura. Lee Revell posted a reply to someone else on this thread. You may
have missed it. He says to make sure that "Synth" volume is up, so I think
that's saying that with the "Live" card, "Synth" equates with "Music" on my
Audigy2.

Also he asked for the output of:
cat /proc/asound/card0/wavetableD1

Would you post the output of this please, as it will confirm if the soundfont
is loaded.

I also compared your lsmod with mine, and there are only minor differences.
Mine has snd-usb-audio, for the sake of my USB midi keyboard. Yours has
snd-rtctimer, and snd-mpu401-uart, which mine doesn't. Not sure of what
snd-rtctimer is for , but as I don't have realtime in this kernel, it may be
something to do with that.
