I'm surprised no one has mentioned IRCAM in Paris. (One common link
between IRCAM and Stanford is Andy Moorer, with Lucas and Sonic Solutions
following.)

You'd have to google IRCAM, though -- I forget which of the Paris
Universities it's attached to.
