I use ubuntu edgy on my laptop (with the kubuntu-desktop package), and to my
surprise i have not been able to install a functioning -rt kernel into this
system. The usual route of starting with the .config of the shipped kernel
and running make oldconfig does produce a kernel, etc, and booting it seems
to work, too, but somehow this mysterious combination of hotplug, udev,
sysfs, etc, fails at some point, so none of my periphery really works [and
yes i have created an initrd] :(
Other than that i really dog ubuntu :) I'm a long time debian user on my
desktop and will keep it that way, but the laptop will be ubuntu from now
on :)
