I apologize for the bad audio. It seems that the cause was a "Triple
band parametric with shelves" plugin with all bands except the high
shelving frequencies at their default (low) setting 4.410 hz with gain
of 0 db. It must be a bug somewhere.
I replaced the file with a better one. I'd still like to hear if anyone
can spot the stretched part?
