FWIW... packaged source and binary...

 http://proaudio.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/jackplay/

 http://pkg.markconstable.com/proaudio/i32/jackplay-0.0.1-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz

Archlinux packages are basically tarballs, anyone can "install"
these packages by "cd /; tar xf /path/to/pkg.tar.gz"
